Our Care

Single Occupancy

Our care is 24hours, is based on a minimum of 2:1, this can be increased to 3:1 & 4:1 if required.

We believe continuity & consistency is important for the young person to settle & be at ease. With this in mind we aim to have a minimum of 4 base team members including a house manager for each young person.

 

Age 8+

At ACTeam, whilst age 8 is so young we fully believe our team have the life & work experience, as well as the qualifications to offer the care, compassion & understanding needed to safeguard children from the age of 8 to 18 years.

Not everyone can care BUT ACTeam can & do.

 

Emergency Care

Our emergency care focuses on giving a safe environment on a minimum of 2:1, for each young person. Offering a holistic approach to support the young person to develop their social & coping skills, whilst encouraging independence in a safe, caring environment that we believe all young people deserve.

 

Our Team

Adolescent care are a TEAM. Together we will grow. We pride ourselves on communication & team work.

Our senior team members have together and extensive range of skills, qualifications & knowledge these include; 25 years in child care, 18 years caring for vulnerable adults & children. Extensive work & qualifications within the mental health sector, including challenging behaviours, personality disorders & difficulties and caring for young people with brain injury.

At  ACTeam we have taken great care & time to build a team we are proud of. We are all passionate about the care of young people and we believe each young person deserves a positive future.

               

Education & Training

All  the experienced team are a minimum of NVQ level 3 in health & social care. New team members will be enrolled on the new CQF level 3 qualification within 3 months of joining our team. Training within ACTeam is continuous, & covers all areas & more relevant to working with young people. Continuous training means our team are knowledgeable, understanding, will be diverse & empathetic, & can therefore ultimately protect & safeguard the welfare of the young people we care for.

 

Activities

We are so lucky to be based in East Yorkshire, there is so much to offer on our doorstep. Activities will be based around the interests & hobbies of the young person, whilst encouraging learning & education. We believe activities can not only be fun, they can also promote independence, confidence & help build self-esteem to promote a happy, healthy lifestyle.

Some of the available activities available from our extensive availabilities are;

  • Indoor & outdoor sports – swimming, gym, football, tennis, bowling, horse riding, ice skating.
  • Arts & Crafts – pottery painting, pottery making, canvas painting, clay foam modelling.
  • Outdoor pursuits – fishing, wall climbing, football, skateboarding, bmx & scooter parks.
  • Indoor activity centres –  wall climbing, rock climbing, soft pay, sensory areas, slides, scooter, bmx & skateboarding centres.
